Our Approach to Pain Management
Chronic pain is complex. It rarely comes from a single source, and treating symptoms alone often leads to a cycle of temporary relief followed by recurring discomfort. At Thrive Integrative Medicine, Dr. Tyler Andres takes a different approach by identifying and treating the underlying neuromuscular patterns that are driving your pain.
Using a combination of acupuncture, dry needling, myofascial release, and hands-on bodywork, Dr. Andres addresses dysfunction at the level of the muscle, fascia, and nervous system. This multi-modal approach reduces inflammation, releases chronic tension, restores proper movement patterns, and helps retrain the nervous system's pain response.
The goal is not just to manage your pain, but to resolve it. Every treatment plan is built around your specific condition, history, and functional goals so you can return to the activities and quality of life you deserve.

Pain Management FAQs
Do I need a referral to see Dr. Andres for pain management?
No referral is needed. You can schedule directly with Thrive Sports Medicine. If you are currently working with other providers such as a primary care physician, orthopedist, or physical therapist, Dr. Andres is happy to coordinate care as part of your treatment team.
How is this different from a traditional pain clinic?
Traditional pain clinics often rely on medications, injections, or procedures to manage symptoms. Dr. Andres focuses on hands-on, drug-free therapies that address the neuromuscular root causes of pain. The goal is to resolve the underlying dysfunction, not mask it.
What if I have been in pain for years?
Chronic pain that has persisted for months or years can still respond to treatment. Long-standing pain often involves deeply established neuromuscular patterns, fascial restrictions, and nervous system sensitization. Dr. Andres has 15 years of experience working with complex, chronic cases and will develop a treatment plan designed for your specific situation.
Can pain management be combined with other treatments I am receiving?
Yes. Dr. Andres regularly works alongside other healthcare providers. His treatments complement physical therapy, chiropractic care, orthopedic treatment, and post-surgical protocols. He can adjust his approach to align with your existing care plan.
