Our Approach to Injury Rehabilitation
Injury rehabilitation at Thrive Sports Medicine goes beyond managing symptoms. Dr. Tyler Andres builds personalized treatment plans designed to restore strength, flexibility, and mobility so you can return to your best life as quickly and safely as possible.
Living in Salida means staying active. Whether you are a skier, climber, runner, mountain biker, or weekend hiker, your body takes on demands that can lead to acute injuries or cumulative wear and tear over time. Dr. Andres understands the needs of active individuals in the Arkansas Valley and tailors every rehab plan to match your activity level and goals.
Using a combination of acupuncture, dry needling, myofascial release, and hands-on bodywork, Dr. Andres addresses the injured tissue directly while also treating the compensatory patterns that develop around the injury. This comprehensive approach helps prevent re-injury and supports a full, lasting recovery.

Injury Rehabilitation FAQs
How soon after an injury should I start rehab?
In many cases, the sooner you begin treatment, the better the outcome. For acute injuries, Dr. Andres can begin gentle, targeted therapies within days of the injury to reduce inflammation, manage pain, and prevent compensatory patterns from developing. For chronic or older injuries, it is never too late to start rehabilitation.
Do I need a referral or imaging before starting?
No referral is needed. You can schedule directly with Thrive Sports Medicine. If you have existing imaging (X-rays, MRI, etc.), bring it to your first visit. If Dr. Andres believes additional imaging would be helpful, he will recommend it.
What types of injuries do you treat?
Dr. Andres treats a wide range of injuries including sports injuries, car accident injuries, workplace injuries, overuse injuries, and post-surgical recovery. He has 15 years of experience working with athletes, active individuals, and patients recovering from complex trauma.
Can you work alongside my physical therapist or doctor?
Absolutely. Dr. Andres regularly collaborates with physical therapists, orthopedic surgeons, primary care physicians, and chiropractors. His treatments complement traditional rehabilitation and can help accelerate recovery when used together.
